Cut no corners

Having a good day, dear ones?

I crave your indulgence as I introduce today's message.

Have you imagined how long it took for Noah to build the ark? Do you know he built it to specification? Do you think he wasn't tempted to cut corners?

It is estimated that he spent 55 to 75 years building the ark that housed 8 humans and lots of animals. Do you think God didn't know the process would be arduous, long, and boring? Do you also think Noah didn't hear comments from passersby?

 ```The family of Reuben the firstborn of Israel: Though Reuben was Israel’s firstborn after he slept with his father’s concubine, a defiling act, his rights as the firstborn were passed on to the sons of Joseph son of Israel. He lost his “firstborn” place in the family tree. And even though Judah became the strongest of his brothers and King David eventually came from that family, the firstborn rights stayed with Joseph.'''
(1 Chronicle 5:1‭-‬2 MSG)
The consequences of shunting are dire. Take a look at Reuben who tried using the back door and got himself in turmoil.
In this generation, it is not uncommon to see or hear of fake professionals. Innocent lives are eventually lost due to "shunting". Have you ever wondered why buildings collapse? Ever wondered if the masons did their jobs well why any building would collapse. Or why the building engineer didn't ascertain the fact that a building was yet unready. Ever wondered why fake drugs are still peddled to the detriment of lives.
The list is endless, so are the repercussions.
Sometimes, cutting corners seem to make sense when our culture tells us the ends justify the means. However, may we yield our lives to the arduous processes of discipline. And may we keep focused on the goal of reaching God's perfection.
