Mental Health!

Image
Hello Sunshine☀️! Howdy-doody? Happy August! “Mental pain is less dramatic than physical pain, but it is more common and also more hard to bear. The frequent attempt to conceal mental pain increases the burden: it is easier to say “My tooth is aching” than to say “My heart is broken.” ― C.S. Lewis Join me as I unravel today's word. Over time, the catchphrase " mental health " has trended for reasons best known to us. In the ongoing Olympic Games in Tokyo, several athletes have withdrawn under this guise. No, they didn't quit because they were incapable of putting in the work, but rather, they took their sanity into cognizance. Simone Biles who is one of these athletes said, "I sometimes feel the weight of the world on my shoulder". Her withdrawal from the games, entertained backlash from sports critics, lovers of sports, and viewers who had stayed glued to their TVs in a bid to watch her perform a mind-blowing gymnastics move. Apparently, her career was see

Ignorance

Hiya! 🌝 How are you?  Did you get today's dose of the sun🔅 rays yet?   Here's today's post.  Better to be unborn than untaught, for ignorance is the root of misfortune . (Plato) Very recently, I had the opportunity to visit a church where the minister shared a story. He narrated a story of how his uncle was allegedly duped by a prophet. This prophet told his uncle to sell his house and bring the proceeds to him. The uncle obeyed and lived in a rented apartment. When the going got tough for him, he chose to take out from the profit he'd just gained. This prophet called him an " Ananias"  for doing that. Out of fear, he repaid the money he'd taken.🤦🏻‍♀️ While this might seem ludicrous, it makes up some real-life experiences. Many are bound to "prophetic" injunctions of prophets. In this day of scholarly refinement, we are alarmed when we read of individuals who have been exposed to our educational system and yet remain ignorant. We quickly lo

Brace for impact

Hiya! Howdy, do? Trust you are fine. I crave your indulgence a bit. Sometime in February, I had the flu and had to steam. Having boiled some water for this purpose, I took a bucket to pour it in. Whilst pouring it, the bucket slipped from my grip and let out its whole content on my leg. Too shocked to scream, I stood. Mum and my sister who were gisting behind me didn't know what happened except that their feet also got some drops of this same hot water.  I was instructed to sit in the tub with the cold water running over the surface.  After pap had been smeared on my leg, the question was asked: How did it happen? 😫🤣 However, being dark-skinned, I didn't get to see the impact of the incidence until three weeks later when my skin became dry and began to peel. You can trust I joined in the peeling. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• I like to draw a lesson from the above occurrence. Just like the impact of the incidence that wasn't seen until somet

Bargain

Image
Hiya! 💃 Welcome to the second half of the year.🎉 Whoosh!  July brings with it bounties, are you ready to claim it?🎁 Don't be scared to drive a hard bargain, after all, the world is a market! May today's post bless your heart. I commute daily to work using public means of transportation. However, before entering any vehicle, I do well to bargain to avoid stories that touch. On some occasions, when the conductors are unsatisfied with my bargain, they drive off 'cause I wouldn't budge or agree to an outrageous sum for a trip. In the same wise, while waiting, other vehicles in dire need of customers, agree to my terms, and boom, off we go. I like to compare this to how crafty the devil gets when he wants to make a deal. He likes to drive a hard bargain when things seem rosy. A case in point, Mr. Job. (Job 1:6-12.) See how the devil was green with envy while he patrolled his vicinity. Can you see how prompt he was to clinch the tiny window of opportunity God gave him? The
