A discussion during family time led to this...

One of my favorites is bread🍞 slathered with mayonnaise. It just wouldn't be the same on bread made without yeast.

Has it ever occurred to you why God loathes leaven? When he instructed the Israelites to bake, he specifically warned against the inclusion of yeast. Ever wondered why?

Have you ever purchased a loaf of bread🍞 that looked big until it was pressed? What was your level of annoyance when this occurred?

Have you ever baked and had to add a rising agent (yeast)? What happens to the dough?

Yeast is a fungus that ferments carbohydrates. In bread dough, it expands and results in the fluffy loaves we are used to.

God detests leaven because it doubles the dough over. Leaven connotes Pride. Pride makes a man regard himself more than he actually is. Pride pits a man against God because he thinks he does not need God. So, the Lord resists a proud man.

Yeast is activated in lukewarm water💦. Lukewarmness - the state of being neither hot nor cold - is a fertile ground for PRIDE. When you are spiritually lethargic, you activate pride.

Yeast is a metaphor or shadow, a tiny thing that infiltrates and grows. It is a rising agent.

He wants us to be real when we come to him. Come in your raw form. Confess your frailties. He is a God who understands what you are going through. Plus, his opinions and ways are always top-notch. For we do not have a high priest who is unbothered about our predicaments.

In Psalm 51; David confessed his failings.

It is essential to get rid of things that infiltrate and grow to compete for our hearts.

For even though he brandishes me, his arms would still envelope us.
