Marah! πŸ˜‘

Hi there!

Happy New Month.

Welcome to December. It's been a while. God has been incredible, yeah!

As today's theme is presented, take out some time and probe your heart.

Exodus 15:23 And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.

24 And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?
25 And he cried unto the Lord; and the Lord shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet

One of the most tragic things about Israel's journey was that they never fully acknowledged God's faithfulness over their lives.

I think we have all been inclined to sympathize with the children of Israel because we want to sympathize with ourselves.

If we are truly sincere with ourselves, we'd attest to the fact that we've failed to recognize His unwavering faithfulness to us.

God leads his people to Marah because he must reveal the condition of their hearts if he is going to be able to deal with it.

So let us not be disturbed and frustrated when we come to our Marah, to the place of uncovering where God begins to reveal the bitterness of our hearts.

Rather, when he uncovers the Marah, let us respond immediately to it. Delay is said to be dangerous.

Ex. 15:27: Next, they went to Elim, where there were 12 springs and 70 palm trees. They camped there by the water

After the bitter experiences of Marah, the faithful God leads His people to Elim, a place of strength.

Yet too many people miss the opportunity and blessings of Elim because they get stuck in the bitterness of Mara.

If you take your bitter experiences to the cross, and allow Jesus to turn them around, you will be able to go to the next level, where the blessing is waiting for you.

  5. After the Marah comes Elim! Reminds me of these verses: For the LORD will not cast off forever, but, though He cause grief, He will have compassion according to the abundance of His steadfast love; for He does not afflict from His heart or grieve the children of men.
    Lamentations 3:31‭-‬33 ESV

This is such an eye opener-The LORD exposes the condition of our hearts at Marah. May my heart be found faithful to Your loving kindness o LORD.
