You Have Overcome!

Hey there, how are you?

Hope your day has been going beautifully? Welcome to June!

Has it dawned on you that we've come to the sixth month of the year? Do you still recall the high hopes and plans you had at the beginning of the year?


I know you had envisaged some challenges but by now, you believed you'd have surmounted them all. Well, that's why this piece is for you. Yes, you. To remind you that you are an overcomer. Regardless of whatever you're passing through. 

Did you know that there had been a prediction for this year? In fact, things are happening faster than was predicted. 

Take a peek at the following predictions:

  • Fuel scarcity (energy, fuel, power) -March
  •  Food scarcity (agriculture & commerce affect) - May/June
  • Job insecurities (inflation & economic triggers)
  •  Governance tensions
  •  Civil unrest.

It had also been predicted our local currency would experience a plunge when compared to the dollar.

Have I just added to your fears? Yes, you might say. However, you should be reminded that as long as we are in this world, there is no time that there will be absolute peace and stability. 

The word of God says 'I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world, you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.] John 16:33 AMP

Having this in mind, we should therefore have the attitude of a champion. 

In this Kingdom we belong, we are Victors. Amidst the myriad of challenges and struggles, We will not just overcome them. Rather, we HAVE overcome.

Finally, the confidence we have is in a simple fact that "as HE is, so are we in this world".

Growing Up: A Scam

Hiya! A pleasant day it is, ain't it? How has it been at your end? I hope you still remember to smile and cut yourself some slack? Today's topic resonates with many of us. Very recently, I clocked a year. Prior to this, I'd always believed growing up to be a scam. I'm glad to point out that this is quietly changing. Nonetheless, that doesn't excuse society for making demands of me before I was prepared. I was told to go to school and gain an education. All glory to God, I passed through the primary, secondary and the so-much talked about tertiary institution. Along the way, I was told when I grow up, the jigsaw puzzle would somehow fit. A pleasant afternoon to you. How do you do? On today's post, knowledge is said to be appealing. Here's why... Sound knowledge is a venture not everyone is willing to invest in . Knowledge, they say is power, but what are you willing to pay for its acquisition? Everyone, or rather, majority of folks love to be associated with individuals who are vast and deep versed. However, we fail to make enquiries as to how such a feat was acquired. We would rather appreciate the outcome, than emulate the means. Recently, I confided in a friend my inability to prepare 'starch', a native meal of my motherland. He did well to remind me of the wealth of knowledge embedded in Google. Shamefacedly, I promised myself to look up the recipe for the meal. Don't ask if I have looked it up. How many opportunities to accumulate knowledge have we passed up?
