Birthdays : A child of mercy!

Image
Hiya!😊 A pleasant day it is, ain't it? How has it been at your end? I hope you still remember to smile and cut yourself some slack? Birthdays are a special time of the year. They remind us that we're growing older, but they also symbolize how far we've come. ... When we celebrate someone's birthday we're not only celebrating the length of their life, but we celebrate how much they've grown in the past year. (Copied) I recently added a year and to commemorate the celebration, I decided to do a lot of introspection . I realized I didn't want to celebrate it so, I had a few friends write letters to me. And trust me, a hard girl like me was moved to tears. Not because I didn't believe the words they penned down but I got to see myself through the lens of others. As the year was beginning, I wasn't feeling pumped and I was led to read Psalm 136. And this I found out, "We endure difficult people in our lives. We endure work we don't enjoy. So whe...

Intercessors

Hi, a beautiful day it is, yeah? Welcome to November. How are things coming along? Indulge me a bit as today's message comes. Have you ever bargained with traders at the market? How did that feel? Especially when you felt you were about to be exploited. Now imagine bargaining with God? The funny thing is, we do this skillfully. I love the man Abraham because of how he went ahead to transact with God over Sodom and Gomorrah. He went on from 50 to 10 with soft speech. Have you ever wondered why he stopped at 10?  For me, I believe that's because he expected Lot to have raised at least 10 accountable people who God can count on. Sadly, that wasn't so. We move on in our day-to-day lives not caring about other people. We all are guilty of this. But for whom can we intercede? Whose lives can you hold the hands of God for? Don't you think the celebration in Heaven would be more beautiful if they tagged along? Remember that God only gives what we ask for. Go ahead and ask him f...

Locked DoorsπŸ”’ πŸšͺ

Hello there,πŸ™‚ How has the month been?πŸ€” Hope you still remember to catch your breath? I crave your attention as we delve into today's tidbit. Hebrews 4:16. So now we draw near freely and boldly to where grace is enthroned, to receive mercy’s kiss and discover the grace we urgently need to strengthen us in our time of weakness. (Hebrews 4:16 TPT) I'm so delighted that the presence of the Lord has no barrier. For me, the door is an access point and should not be barred whatsoever the reason. On my way to work sometime last week, it dawned on me that I hadn't seen my ID card. In work areas where the display of the aforementioned is a big deal, you can't afford to joke about it. While on my way, I decided to call a colleague to organize the strategy for my entry. 🀣 I eventually did arrive work before him and get in with a smile on my face. Forever glad the access point to my Heavenly Father wasn't barred, I confided in Him my inability to catch sight of my ID card. As...

The Surest Anchor

Hi dears, It's been a while. Did you miss me?🌝 Nonetheless, I'm back with a message for you. Sometime last year, I know I slept off with the ceiling fan gliding unhurriedly. Of a sudden, I awoke to heat. I checked what could have gone wrong, only for me to realize that the fan was barely hanging by a wire. πŸ€” I prayed it won't come down because my sister's head laid directly beneath the fan🀣. We saw the morning and was glad to see that the fan didn't fall off. Sometime during the course of the day in our absence, the fan eventually fell. We both came back to meet it 🀣 In life, God holds us in the hollow of his arms. As for me, my arms flank helplessly and sometimes, my heart doesn't seem to trust the process. We've all passed through similar situations that seemed as though, we would not make it. However, through that time, God was there - silently holding and rooting for us. All of us will face trials, tests and temptations. We will go through ‘fire’ and...

Workplace liars

Hello, dears, How are you? Really? Happy October.πŸŒπŸ˜€πŸ˜ƒ Did you know the truth is more important than facts? (Frank Lloyd Wright) So today's topic is rather different from the usual. I pray you to learn something .  "Thou shalt not lie" How convenient is it for you to lie? Is your truthfulness dependent on your location? Proverbs 23:23 Very recently at work, a colleague mentioned something in passing to me but failed to inform me that the info was privy. Coincidentally, a superior inquires from me about the same info and I hastily communicated what I had heard. The colleague who had divulged this "sweet info" to me, of a sudden denied having uttered the statement in question.  Subsequently, at the close of work, I meet up with this same colleague and all he had were apologies with lame reasons for his earlier actions. Well, this same scenario plays in different fashions in our everyday lives. We find ourselves in compromising situations that allow us to adjust...

Why do you go to Church?

Image
Hi there, how are you? 🌝 Really?πŸ€” Have the happenings in the world🌎 tainted your radiant smile 😁? "Those who bet, would go to hell". Heavy statements like this, make me cringe. The Church ⛪  is said to be a hospital πŸ₯ . Sick folks come to church for a form of healing. We all know how difficult habits are, to break. We also know how easy it is to live in a veil. Some go to church because it's a norm. Others go to hear God's word. Some go in obedience in order not to neglect God's people. Whatever the reason you find yourself in this place, I bet it's legit. However, when the message takes a turn to derogative words, I think we should be cautious.  Everyone knows where it hurts the most. I dislike Churches where half of the time is spent casting blames and running down the members. I wish you'll instruct men to emulate thorough search of the word. And cease following things that don't last. In as much as it's not completely right to cast blame...

God's Mandate

Image
Hi, a beautiful day it is, yeah? Happy September! The Ember months have finally arrived. 2021 has been such a long ride.  What we do after God has given us a mandate matters a lot. Today we would see some people's first line of duty. Immediately they were appointed Kings, their first commitment still amazes me. While David went about acquiring more wives (cf. 2 Sam 5:13), Asa destroyed the places of false worship (cf. 2 Chron. 15) While Solomon sought God's face (cf. 2 Chron. 1: 8- 10); Jehoram's first duty was to murder his brothers and elder statesmen( cf. 2 Chron. 21: 2-4) Don't you dare think you are better off than these men! A position of leadership would certainly come your way and I wonder what your first line of duty would be.  Would you acquire more "wives" or seek the face of God? Would you destroy the places of false worship or order the death of your loved ones? 'Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely' but what would you do wh...
